Hey friends, welcome back to the Taste Toast Travel podcast. Today's episode is going to be a little bit different because it's really more of an update than an episode, but a very positive one. And I wanted to take a few minutes to just catch you up on what has been happening behind the scenes and share a little bit about where Taste Toast Travel is headed. If you didn't notice, we have been on a little break so far this summer. One, because life has been lifing right now, and the summer has been a little chaotic, but we have been doing a little soul searching during this time as well. First and foremost, I just want to say thank you because whether you have been listening since the very beginning or you've more recently discovered the podcast, it truly means so much that you have chosen to spend a little bit of your time with us. Truly, we are big podcast listeners too, and we know that there are so many to choose from, and we don't take that lightly. And your support and your messages and your encouragement have meant more than you probably realize and more than we can express. So just so much gratitude for each and every one of you. As many of you may know, Taste Toast Travel started really as a passion project for John and me. It gave us an opportunity to share two of the things that we genuinely love: exploring the world and connecting with people and each other through stories, food, wine and drink, and culture. That is very much what brought us together as a couple. And all of those things still mean so much to us. Over the past couple of years, since we started the podcast, though, life has shifted a little bit, as it tends to do. We started the podcast with a baby who is now a full-blown, very chaotic toddler. And John has actually taken on some very exciting new responsibilities in his career in the wine industry. And after many, many conversations between both of us and honestly just figuring out logistics of how we can realistically make time to record with both of us having full-time jobs and a very busy two-year-old on top of it. Because of that, he has decided to take a step back from the podcast to focus on this new chapter ahead of him. And as his wife, I am incredibly proud of him. And I am just so excited to see where this next season takes him and takes us as a family. But the good news is taste toast travel isn't going anywhere. If anything, I truly feel more inspired than ever about where it's headed. Over the last year, we have spent a lot of time thinking about what we want taste toast travel to be. And last year, sometime we announced that we were going to start bringing on more guests in addition to conversations between John and I. But as we've started to bring on more and more guests, I personally have realized something that feels incredibly true to me. And I know John will definitely second this. Travel for us has never just been about checking places off a list, right? It's about curiosity and connection and understanding people, cultures, traditions, the stories that shape our world. And I know that so many of us, us included, are balancing careers, perhaps families, responsibilities, and limited vacation time. We can't always be boarding a plane as much as we would like to. But that doesn't mean our curiosity has to stop along the way. And that doesn't mean that we have to stop learning along the way. And that is really the heart of where Taste Toast Travel is going. So you will continue to hear those thoughtful conversations with incredible guests from around the world that I will have the pleasure of chatting with as I do now. So that part of the podcast will not change. It will only get better from here. And we'll be welcoming on people whose stories continue to inspire us to think differently, explore more deeply, and stay connected to the world, whether we are traveling or full on trying to move abroad or simply dreaming about our next adventure, as we always are over here. And you'll also start to see Taste Toast travel grow hopefully beyond the podcast. That is the goal, at least. My hope is that this becomes a place for everyday explorers, for people who love learning, storytelling, discovering, and experiencing the world, even while balancing everyday life. I really want this podcast to be a little respite for you. I want it to be a place where you can come and learn and have some fun conversations and escape for a little bit. And I'm just genuinely so excited for what's ahead. And I hope you will come along with me. Because this all felt like very aligned timing, like truly, with everything John has going on, but also with where my heart has been with Taste Toast Travel and even his as well, honestly, and just the direction we wanted to take it. So all great things ahead. And again, very simply, thank you for being here. Thank you for your continued support. And moreover, thank you for allowing us and Taste Toast Travel to continue evolving and giving us grace as we figure it out because that's life, right? I truly believe the best is yet to come. And I'm very excited to share more soon. And speaking of new episodes, in case you're wondering when you can expect a new one, because of some family commitments and a very exciting trip to Sicily that we have planned in August. Speaking of travel, we are on a little hiatus for now, but you can expect new episodes to begin again in late August or very early September, once all of that craziness dies down a little bit. So make sure you stay tuned for that. And until next time, keep exploring. Stay curious, all the good things. I'm so excited to share this next chapter with you all. And I will see you in the next episode. Thank you so much for tuning in to the Taste Toast Travel Podcast. Until next time, happy exploring.
